GLEN ULLIN -- Margaret Geck, 84, Glen Ullin, died April 11, 2005, at her daughter's home in Mandan under the care of hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, with the Rev. Sebastian Schmidt OSB officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8:30 p.m. today at the church, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Margaret was born May 7, 1920, in Glen Ullin, the son of John and Margaret (Fetter) Filibeck. She was raised and educated near Glen Ullin. She married Peter Geck June 11, 1940, at the Sacred Heart Church.

Following marriage, they took over the Peter Geck Sr. farm, which they operated until 1975. They moved into Glen Ullin in 1980. Margaret was a humble woman who lived her life for her children. She walked in the way of the Lord with a silent inner strength. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the Christian Mothers and a member of the choir. In her spare time, she made an afghan for all the members of her rather large family.

Those left to share in her memory are her children, Marjean (Matt) Hellman, Albany, Ore. Rosemary (Ron) Rhoden, Mandan, Peggy (Jerry) Zimmerman, Bismarck, Yolanda (Marvin) Wetzel, Mandan, Peter J. (Judy) Geck, Mandan, Cindy (Dennis) Roth, Williston, Mary Lou (Tim) Cooper, Denver, and David (Kris) Geck, Glen Ullin; her grandchildren, Jenny (Dee) Brausch, Sue (Dean) Kuntz and Jeff (Carol) Hellman, all of Albany, Ore., Dan (Rhonda) Rhoden, Mandan, Rhonda (Jody) Stevens, Wasilla, Ark., Anthony dan Andrew Rhoden, serving in Afghanistan, LaDonna (Mike) Carpenter, Fargo, Dr. Laura (Arthur) Archuleta, Jamestown, Jerome (Kari) Zimmerman, Glen Ullin, Jason (Val) Boltz, Vancouver, Wash., Clint Boltz, San Diego, James Boltz, Mandan, Milynn (Andrea) Wetzel, Edmonds, Wash., Melissa Wetzel, Bismarck, Mason (Kelly) Wetzel, Buena Park, Calif., Miles (Andrea) Wetzel, Germany, Mistelle (Craig) McElvain, Stanford, Mont., Brian and Christopher Geck, Bismarck, Beth, Tom and Rebecca Roth, Williston, Jeremy Cooper, Denver, and Samantha and Macy Geck, Glen Ullin.; 27 great-grandchildren and three on the way; her sister, Josie Schirado, Glen Ullin; and one brother, Robert, Richardson, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren, Dean and Carina Hellman; a great-grandchild, Charlotte Wetzel; three sisters, Rose, Agnes and Darlene; and five brothers, Nick, John, Martin, Paul and Ray.
