Louis G. (Sonny) Chalupa, 77, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007.

Sonny was born on Sept. 6, 1930 in Coupland to Ludwig and Evelyn Malish Chalupa.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from April 1948 to April 1954 where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. While serving in the Air Force, Sonny met his loving wife Betty (Berta) Schmid Chalupa.

Sonny and Betty were best friends and companions for over 50 years and married for over 41 of those 50 years.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig and Evelyn Chalupa; sisters, Jean Bunge and husband Lester and Elaine Tramp; brother, Billy Chalupa; and nephew Allen Bunge.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Chalupa of Taylor; nephews, Dale Bunge and wife Sharon of Granger and Mike Bunge and wife Sandra of Houston; niece, Jackie Garcia and husband Art of Georgetown; great-nephews, Jared Bunge and wife Jennifer of Tomball and Jacob Balusek of Georgetown; great-nieces, Lindsey Bunge of Houston, Megan Bunge of Denton, Tina Bunge of Taylor, and Morgan Garcia of Georgetown; great-great-nieces, Kaitlin Bunge of Granger and Jalyn Bunge of Tomball; and numerous cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at Providence Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Diabetes Foundation.
