Mrs. Arthur (Dolorosa) Braun, 85, of rural Alton, died Thursday, Oct. 5 in the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Braun was born July 21, 1904 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Peter & Josepha (Wiltgen) Eulberg. The family moved to the Alton area when she was four. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Alton in 1922. She was a telephone operator for West Iowa Telephone Co. at Alton until her marriage to John C. Henrich, Jan. 30, 1928 in Alton. He died Sept. 9, 1951. She then married Arthur Braun, Aug. 21, 1954 in Alton. They farmed near Alton and continued to live there after retiring in 1973. Mr. Braun died March 29, 1989.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Rosary Society, and a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She played the organ at St. Mary's Church over a period of 60 years.

Survivors include a son, Robert Henrich of San Pedro, CA; three daughters, Estelle Henrich of Long Island, NY, Mrs. Bill (Dolores) Pfaffle of Sioux City and Mrs. Charles (Rosemary) Iddings of Sioux Falls, SD; three stepsons, Leo Braun of Granville, Arthur J. Braun of Marcus, and Thomas Braun of Alton; two step-daughters, Mrs. Cyril (Rose Mary) Ortmann of Merrill and Mrs. Milton (Kathleen Kay) Delperdang of Marcus; four sisters, Sister Mary Auxilia, O.S.F., and Sister Mary Thomas, O.S.F., both of Dubuque, Eulalia Eulberg of Redlands, CA, and Marie Eulberg of Orange City; nine grandchildren, 44 step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 46 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, a step-daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Margaret) Schreier; a step-granddaughter, Rita Braun, and four brothers, Theodore, Vincent, Leo and Gerald.
