Billye Alverta Holquist, 90, Rockford, died Wed., May 3, 2000, in River Bluff Nursing Home.
Born June 19, 1909, in Shirleysburg, Pa., daughter of Harry Cloyd and Edith Murphy Appleby.
Married Leonard Holquist in Polo in July 1930; he died in Rockford on Jan 15, 1977. Billye
graduated from Polo High School in 1926, and worked at Hicks Restaurant for 15 years.
She then worked at Barber-Colman Co. as a designer engineer for 24 years, retiring in 1974.
Member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include sons, Harold (Norma) Appleby and James Michael (Elsie) Holquist; daughter
Sandra (Dan) Sears; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and forever friend, Bernice. Also
predeceased by parents; sister; and great-granddaughter, Shea.
