Mildred Anita Horner Reale, age 93, of Woodbridge, Va., died Sept. 14, 2014 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late John Bush and Elizabeth Herr Horner of Gettysburg. She attended rural schools in Adams County, was a 1937 graduate of Gettysburg High School and attended Central Business School, Harrisburg.

She was the widow of Roy Reale, a retired Command Sgt. Major of the Army Security Agency, who died in 1970. Following her army career husband about, Mrs. Reale lived at various places in this country as well as three years in Germany and two years in Japan.

Mrs. Reale was a resident of Woodbridge, Va. since 1960. She was a chapter member of Grace Baptist Church, Woodbridge, Va., and an Associate member of Mt. Joy Lutheran Church, Barlow, Pa. She was a former member of the Eastern Star in Berlin, Germany, and a long-time member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association.

Mrs. Reale was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways for seven years, also for the U. S. Defense Department at Fort Belvoir, Va., for 20 years. Upon retirement she returned there as a retired annuitant for 10 more years.

She is survived by a son, the Rev. John R. Reale, of Roanoke, Va., and a daughter, Kathy Allder of Triangle, Va.; one brother, John B. Horner of Gettysburg; and a sister, Margaret Snyder, of Daytona, Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Horner, of San Diego, Calif., and a daughter, Pauline Gary, of Woodbridge, Va.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Grace Baptist Church, in Woodbridge, Va. Interment will be at a later date in Gettysburg National Military Cemetery Annex, Gettysburg. Pall bearers will be grandsons David Patterson, Robert Reale, Joseph Reale, Stephen Allder and John Stephens.
