Betty Lou Virginia (Kettleson) Heidt entered the kingdom of Heaven on September 17, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 20, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wing, ND, with Rev. Trish DeBoer officiating.

Burial will be in Wing Cemetery.

Family will be greeting visitors from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Friday, September 19, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. Cremation has taken place.

Betty Lou was born March 6, 1925, to Clarence and Hazel (Nordberg) Kettleson near Wing, ND. She grew up near Wing and attended elementary school and graduated from High School in Wing. She then furthered her education by obtaining a teacher's certificate and taught at a country school for the Richmond School District for 2 ½ years.

Betty Lou married Armin Heidt at Arena, ND, on June 10, 1945. During her years as a housewife and mother she was active in the LCW group at her church, her homemaker's club and Cub Scouts. She was an avid seamstress and provided a wide variety of stuffed animals, quilts, and pillows for her grandchildren, friends, and relatives. She also was an avid gardener. She also drove school bus, worked at the bowling ally café and was her husband's secretary in the insurance business.

Betty Lou is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Sherryl (Halquist) Heidt, Bismarck, Larry and Mary Ann (Clemens) Heidt, Aberdeen, SD, Jackie Heidt, Wing, and Kirby and Kayde (Thompson) Heidt, Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren, Jonathon Michael (Raegan) Heidt, Vancouver, BC, Canada, Nathan Armin (Nalie) Heidt, Roseville, MN, Brandon Jay Heidt, Des Moines, IA, and Jade Kelly Heidt, St. Petersburg, FL; three great-grandchildren, Felicity Ann, Adelyn, and Kate. She is also survived by her sister, Marlys Lein, Bismarck; one brother-in-law, Dallas (Elaine) Heidt, McMinnville, OR, and her sister-in-law, Bertha Oschner, Tuttle, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews who were always very dear to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Armin Heidt; her brother, Creighton Kettleson and his wife Mary; and her brothers-in-law, Lindy Lein and Theodore Oschner.
