Attended Dulwich College 1928 - 1932 then worked for the Imperial Tobaccon Co and later Roneo Ltd

Joined the RAFVR in 1938 as Airman u/t Pilot and began flying at 15 E&R FTS Redhill
Called up Sept 1939 posted to No 1 ITW Cambridge, commissioned and posated to No 2 Scool of Army Co-operation June 1940
Moved to 5OTU Aston Down and ' converted ' to Blenheims and joined 600 Squadron at Northolt on July 15 1940

He claimed an enemy aircraft on Sept 27.

In the evening of March 13 1941 they shot down an He111 raiding Glasgow and was awarded the DFC on 22 April 1941

Posted away to instruct he then returned to ops in July 1942 abd joined 125 Squadron at Fairwood Common Denby.

He was killed as Flight Commander when they crashed their Beaufighter off the Shetlands after engine trouble.
