Ole was a fisherman in Norway and come to America in 1871, landing in Quebec, Canada, & at once came to Pope County, where he remained.
Ole married Anna Ellertson June 22, 1860, who was born & educated in Norway. They have been blessed with the following children - Martin, Regina, Anton, Ole, Lars, Carl, John, & Edwin, all of whom are living & at home. Ole inherited his present farm from the father of Mrs. Mortenson (Mr. Carlson), & it is 320 acres of well cultivated land, with good building improvements. Ole is engaged, successfully, in general farming & stock-raising business....

According to his long obituary in The Starbuck Times March 1, 1912 page 8, he was born in Osterdalen, Norway Feb. 20, 1828. He leaves to mourn his loss, six sons & one daughter. (Unable to list names as part of microfilm / paper is missing.)
According to a family tree at the Pope County Historical Society in Glenwood, MN, Ole and Anna had 10 children. They were Martin, Regina, Jens Anton, Ole O., Louis or Lars, Elise, Carl, Christin, John G and Edwin D.
