He was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Pekin to George and Litta (Wood) Diekhoff.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Melvin) Pruss of Metamora; one son, Mark (Kristine) Diekhoff of Peoria; four stepsons, Tom (Barb) Voegele of Sturgen Bay, Wis., Steve Voegele of Mansfield, Texas, Gregg (Lori) Voegele of Tampa, Fla., and Brad Bright of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two brothers, George (Joyce) Diekhoff of Peoria and Robert Diekhoff of Peoria; and one sister, Shirley (Don) Marchand of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, one son and one daughter.
Donald worked for Allied Construction for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a Korean War Army Veteran.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
