Albert Affolter, for many years a resident of Lee Center and for the past six years of this city, died at his home at 1 o'clock this afternoon from a general breaking down of the system. He had been in failing health for the past year but had been confined to his bed for two days. Mr. Affolter was born in Switzerland on April 10, 1827 and was therefore in his 89th year.
He came to America in 1856 and located in Rome. A short time later he went to Lee Center to reside and he continued his residence there until he came to Rome. He was a mason by trade but retired from active work about 10 years ago. In 1857 he was married to Miss Rosine Schaffer at Lee Center. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Michael O'Brien and Miss Lillian Affolter of Rome, three sons, Albert of Lee Center, Frank of Lee and Charles Affolter of Rome. Mr. Affolter had many estimable qualities and many friends both in Rome and Lee held him in high esteem.
