Son of John Rench Schnebly and Mary Ellen Brown. He was a professor of law at the U of IL. He was married first to Bessie Viola Anthony Nov. 19, 1913. He then married Melitta Anna Magaret of Omaha on Nov. 6, 1950. She died on Oct. 20, 1954. He then married Evangeline Hunter of Urbana on May 4, 1956. He had four children with Bessie Anthony: Ellen Schnebly Swartz (1913), Merrill Anthony Schnebly (1914), Eudora Schnebly Mc Bride (1922), John Rowland Schnebly (1924).
