A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hewitt. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Dorothy was born on April 14, 1925 in Marshfield to Louis and Bozena “Beatrice” (Gotstein) Ley. She attended St. John’s Parochial School, Marshfield, and graduated from McKinley High School, Marshfield. She was united in marriage to Myron R. “Mike” Bores on October 27, 1945 at St. John’s Catholic Church. He died on April 27, 2007.
Dorothy was a stay at home mom and then worked at Figi’s, Inc. for 25 years. Dorothy and her family moved to Hewitt in 1957. She returned to Marshfield to live at the Wildwood Regency. She loved her apartment and her social activities, meeting new friends and reuniting with old acquaintances.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hewitt and the Parish Council of Catholic Women and Christian Mothers Society. She was active in 4-H as the drama leader. She attended her children’s plays, concerts and sporting events. Dorothy also enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and flower gardening in her earlier years. Macular degeneration curtailed those activities. She then enjoyed books on tape, music, and played cards until the last few months. She was an excellent cook, making Grandma Ley’s “chicken booyah” and “sterits”, Bohemian family favorites.
She is survived by her children, Virginia (David McCormick) Bores, Kathryn Bymers, Frederick (Carol) Bores, Peter (Bobbi Merri) Bores, Mary Hayes, and Anne (Mark) Wroblewski. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Peter (Denise) McCormick, Megan McCormick, Laura (Steve) Strigel, Tina (Kurt) Seeger, Brian Bymers, Jodie (Dale) Budtke, David (Arica) Bores, Scott (Kylie) Bores, Holly (Jamie Dehlinger) Leonhardt, Jon Wroblewski, and Jason (Taylor Scharfenberg) Wroblewski and great grandchildren, P.J., Julia, Sean, Shane, Samantha, Amanda, Tyler, Makenna, Gavin, and Jacob. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Ley.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Bishop Felix Ley, Ralph Ley, Herbert Ley, Beatrice Lee, Raymond Ley, and Norbert Ley.
The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Ministry Home Health andHospice Care Services and the Marshfield Care Center.
