EDGEWOOD, Iowa - James J. Hahn, 65, of Edgewood, died of multiple myeloma cancer Thursday morning, July 12, 2001, at home.

Services were held Saturday, July 14, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Edgewood. Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Dyersville. The Leonard Funeral Home, Edgewood, was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Martin Hahn, Glen Hahn, Gary Hahn, Luke Hahn, Art Hahn and Richard Putz.

He was born on June 4, 1936, son of Casper and Molly (Arens) Hahn. He was raised on a farm near Dyersville.

He married Dorothy Trumm, of Cascade, on Aug. 30, 1958. They farmed with his dad until 1962, when he purchased a farm in the Edgewood area. He raised his family and continued farming until his death.

He was a member of St. Mark's Parish, Edgewood, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming with his family as they grew up.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; six children, Kenny (Linda), of Strawberry Point, Jesse (Marcia), of Cedar Rapids, Patsy (Pete) Gaul, of Strawberry Point, Joe (Julie), of St. Charles, Art, of Washington, D.C., and Martin, of Edgewood; 17 grandchildren; two sisters, Estella Michels, of Manchester, and Irma Puckett, of Dubuque; and two half sisters, Marion (Ken) Angersola, of Clive, and Alice (Doug) Woolf, of Urbandale.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herb; and a sister, Dolores.
