Beatrice Thiede, 65, of, 1405 N. Payne Street, New Ulm, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at New Ulm Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at, the church.
Beatrice Wolf, the daughter of Waldemar and Elinor (Vomhof) Wolf, was born February 19, 1937, in Red Wing. In her youth, she attended Goodhue Elementary School, later moving to New Ulm, where she graduated from the former Dr. Martin Luther High School in 1955. That year she began working for Montgomery Ward in New Ulm. She was united in marriage to Roland "Benny" Thiede on June 15, 1957, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. They made, their home in New Ulm, where she continued to work for Wards until 1965. That year she began working for Lindy's Collection Agency in New Ulm. She worked there in various capacities, mainly office manager, until the time of her death. Her husband died in 1999. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, and had served on the Ladies Aid. She was also active in various area cancer support groups.
Survivors include her son, Paul Thiede and his wife Marie of New Ulm; two stepgrandchildren, Tim and Amanda Waibel of New Ulm; mother, Elinor Wolf of New Ulm; sister, Nyla Wille and her husband Lawrence of Morristown Minn.; two nieces, Sarah Wille and her husband Mike Kneer of Shoreview, Robin Wille of Minneapolis; a great-niece and great-nephew; cousins, and many friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father in 1985, and an infant brother Marlin in 1932.
