Kenneth M. Meyer, 86 years, of Fremont, NE, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Nye Legacy in Fremont.
Kenneth was born September 9, 1928, in Scribner, NE, to John and Alma (Kunz) Meyer. He grew up in Scribner and attended Scribner High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from January 12, 1951 until January 12 1953, and received the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star. After his discharge, he moved to Fremont. Kenneth married Glenda Lundy on November 27, 1971 in Fremont. She died on March 28, 1981. Kenneth was employed by Paden Construction and Boschult Engineering Co. in Fremont. He was a member of the V.F.W Post #854 in Fremont.
Kenneth was a loving step- father and grandfather. He enjoyed his pets.
Kenneth is survived by step-sons, Wyatt (Tammy) Drucker of Omaha, NE, and Joseph (Julie) Drucker of Fremont; step daughters, Vicki Fisher and fiancé, Steve Zimba of Schuyler, NE, and Cindy Johnston and fiancé, Kevin Ehlers of Fremont; 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and special friend, Carol Anderson of Cedar Bluffs, NE.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glenda; four brothers, Leslie, Harlan, Clinton, and Warren Meyer; grandson, Daimon Johnston.
The Memorial Service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain James Jost will officiate. Memorial visitation with family receiving friends will be Friday, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont with military honors conducted by Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20.
