Ralph Eugene "Gene" Upchurch, age 77 of Custer, KY died Monday, October 6, 2014 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Monticello, KY on July 16, 1937, the son of the late Cleo and Ruby Ramsey Upchurch. Gene retired from Phillip Morris, was a member of Stinnettsville Community Church and Scottish Rite and an Army veteran. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Bewleyville Masonic Lodge. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, farming, horseback riding and flower gardening. He was an avid U of K basketball fan.
Gene is survived by his wife - Joy Upchurch of Custer, KY

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, 10-9-2014 at 1 PM with Rev. Murray Stevenson, Jr. officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Custer Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday, 4-8 PM and Thursday after 8:30 AM. Masonic services will be held Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
