Eva was a teacher's instructional aide for Madera County Office of Education for 18 years working with the Orthopedic handicap and 2 years with Madera County Boot Camp. She retired in 1998. Throughout her life she enjoyed camping, Sunday drives with her husband and children, gardening, cooking, family get togethers and "junking" with her friend Donna. She taught painting and craft classes, which was the inspiration to the family business "Families Are Forever". She was an active member of her church and taught Catechism classes. She donated her time to Chowchilla's Food Bank distribution. Eva was quite the talker and always had a kind word and smile for family, friends and strangers. Her positive outlook on life and strong faith guided her through her many illnesses. She was a fighter and never gave up. She never complained. She fought her illnesses to the end and did it her way.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Jess Hernandez. She is survived by her loving husband Robert, her six children and their spouses; Marge and Larry Cervantez, Melinda and Don Burton, Robert J. and Sharon Gutierrez, all of Madera, Mary Ann and Jean-Luc Pythoud of Switzerland, Mona and Thomas Gonzales of Madera and Myra and Glenn Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada; her mother, Delphina Hernandez, seven brothers and sisters; Louis Hernandez of Los Gatos, Jimmy Hernandez of Arizona, Henry Hernandez of Coarsegold, Mary Jean Camarena of Madera, Patrick Hernandez and Mildred Tischmacher both of Coarsegold and Linda May of Gilroy; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
