Lawrence Shiveley, 60, a member of an old Cass Lake family died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd. He had been taken to the Hackensack Rest Home, last week after being found ill in his home in East Cass Lake.

Funeral services were held in Northland Funeral home in Pine River, and the body will be brought to Cass Lake on Friday (tomorrow) and laid to rest in Pine Grove cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

Shiveley served in the U.S. Navy after the First World War, and since the death of his father had been living alone. He was unmarried.

He is survived by two sisters, Mamie Moore of Valpariso, Indiana and Olive Protsman of the State of Washington.

His parents and a sister, Mrs. Frank Patzke preceded him in death. (Cass Lake Times, Nov. 24, 1966)
