Harry Lee Bautsch was the first born child of William George Bautsch and Hulda Granke Bautsch. His mother passed away in January of 1885 leaving Harry and his siblings (Anna, Gustave and baby Hulda) to be cared for by their father. Baby Hulda died a few short months later from the "cramps". Harry's father eventually remarried to Nellie Fay Bautsch who raised the children as her own.
Harry was married to Lena Stange from Holstein, Germany. Together they had two children: William L. and Harry G.
