He was born July 15, 1906 in Loa, a son of Ammon and Annie Ernstsen Oyler. He married Cleo Jacobs, April 20, 1927 in Loa. Marriage solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, November 20, 1928. He was a very active member of the LDS Church. High Priest in the Loa Ward. He and his wife had been temple workers in the Manti Temple for many years. He served as custodian of the Loa Stake Tabernacle for 33 years. He also served as the Loa town watermaster for many years. He helped to build the Loa Elementary School and the Wayne County Court House. He was a plumber, a cement finisher, had worked as a coal miner. He served as the Loa town marshall. He loved to fish and hunt. He was an excellent foot racer, and he loved all kinds of sports.

Smith, Monroe; Ruth Marlene and Bert Funk, Richfield; 17 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lester, Ernest, Mrs. Clinton (LaRue) Peterson, Zina New and Lila Taylor, all of Loa; Mrs. Earl (Blanche) Pendleton, Panguitch; Victor, Mesa, Arizona; Joy Talbot, West Valley City; Layton, Sonoma, California; Mrs. Clyde (Delia) Peterson, Weiser, Idaho; Leland, Citrus Heights, California. Preceded in death by a brother, Melvin T. Oyler and a grandson, Mitch Funk.
Funeral services Monday, March 26, 12 noon, in the Loa LDS Stake Tabernacle. Friends may call for viewing Sunday evening at the Springer-Turner Funeral Home in Richfield from 7-9 p.m. and at the tabernacle in Loa Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Graveside services will be held Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer-Turner Funeral Home of Richfield.
