Jamila Nosir Haffar, 74, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at her home in West Des Moines.Jamila was born July 27, 1940 in Cape Coast, Ghana, formerly Gold Coast. She married Aziz Najib Haffar on November 11, 1956 in Ghana West Africa. Jamila was the owner of Haffar Timber Industries in Kumasi, Ghana West Africa. She moved to the United States in 1996 and worked for Thorsen Manufacturing in West Des Moines. Jamila truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like chatting with family, snacking , serving and drinking wine, spending time at home with her kids and grandkids. She loved and enjoyed good food, cooking, socializing and attending garage sales. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.Jamila had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to our family and especially to her late and loving husband. Our mom truly was an Angel on Earth. We will never forget you and neither will the people whose lives you touched! We will always hold you in our hearts. Jamila is survived by her two daughters, Randa (Dr. Christian) Warsch of Hamburg, Germany and Janan (Ghassan) Hage of Accra, Ghana; son, Aziz (Annette) Haffar of West Des Moines and seven grandchildren, Stephanie Jahns, Annett-Maxine Jahns, Nadine-Pascale Jahns, Layaal Hage, Yasmina Hage, Andreas Haffar and Alden Haffar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aziz Najib Haffar and son-in-law, Volker Jahns.
