Daughter of Peter Anton Kulleck (b. 1807 West Prussia, Prussia - now Poland) and his wife Anna Paulus (b. 1814), Eva Anna Kulleck was born at Kamin, Kreis Flatow, West Prussia, Prussia (now Poland). In 1867 she married Michael Andreas Dahlke at Kamin. In 1869 they moved to the small farming village of Osterwick, Kreis Konitz, West Prussia, Prussia (now Poland) where they raised their family. Of their eight children born in West Prussia, two died as infants or toddlers. In 1881 the family decided to immigrate to America. Michael Andreas went first, destination Minnesota, to locate work and a place to live. Eva Ann and their three youngest children joined him in May of 1883, and their three oldest children came at the end of October 1883. They first settled in Sumner Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota, then by 1895 they had relocated to Kalmar Township, Olmsted County, Minnesota where they farmed. In America, four more sons were born to them, one of whom died in infancy.
