Funeral services in memory of Gilbert Christ Rinck were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 1995, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Milo Sheldon officiated.
Casket bearers were Delbert Johannsen, John Engelke, Lloyd Newkirk, Bill Gruhn, Kenneth Nelson and Earl Norton. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Warner-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Gilbert Chris Rinck, the son of Christ and Bertha Wills Rinck, was born December 31, 1905, in Hartley, Iowa. He received his education in Lincoln Township country schools.
On April 12, 1939, Gilbert married Helen Fricke Arnold in Worthington, Minnesota and following their marriage, they made their home in Hartley. While living in Hartley, he was an electrician and lineman for the City of Hartley for 38 1/2 years before retiring in 1970. He was also a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and a past member of the Happy Hearts Club.
Mr Rinck passed away at the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, Iowa on September 6, 1995, at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, and his wife, Helen.
Gilbert is survived by two step-children and their wives: Buddy and Janet Arnold of Sheldon, and Robert and Jan Arnold of Louisville, Kentucky; two sisters; Lucille Mayou and Alice Boetel, both of Hartley; one sister-in-law, Olga Fricke of Hartley; other relatives and friends.
