Bernhard P. Kahlert, 87, of Berne, IN died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Adams Woodcrest. Bernhard was born in Jauer, Germany on July 4, 1927 to the late Bernhard P. Kahlert Sr. and Anna (Brier) Kahlert. On December 28, 1991 he married Doris A. Nevil.

Bernhard was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He worked for M.W. Habegger Construction from 1954-1961 and Hardware Wholesalers where he worked from 1961-1981, where he retired in 1981. He served during World War II in the German Army.

He is survived by his wife Doris A. Kahlert of Berne, IN; two step sons, Kevin W. Brunner of Markle, IN and Gary W. Brunner of Berne, IN; a daughter, Margie (Rick) Teboe of Monroe, IN; granddaughter, Candy Teboe and great granddaughter Juli Anna Teboe both of Monroe, IN; three brothers, Josef Kahlert of Berne, IN, Alfons Kahlert of Decatur, IN and Georg Kahlert of Springfield, OH; two sisters, Dorothea Hartman of Decatur, IN and Edeltraud Kahlert of Altena, Germany and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private visitation and burial.

Burial is in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
