Born March 20, 1926, in Indian Head, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Lizzy (Kalp) Grimm.
She resided in East Cameron Township from 1946 to 1978 and Coal Township from 1978 to 2011, when she went to the Golden Living Mansion.
On Dec. 25, 1946, in East Cameron Township, she married Richard A. Hornberger, who preceded her in death April 26, 1999. A housewife, she was a member of Bethel Chapel, West Cameron Township.
She is survived by a son, Richard Hornberger and wife Linda, of Trevorton Road; daughters Peggy Pahutka, of Coal Township, and Mrs. Linda Fortune and husband Kenneth, of Gowen City; a sister-in-law, Sandra Hornberger, of Shamokin; a son-in-law, Norman Pahutka, of Ranshaw; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, a sister, Marie Barger, of Connellsville; a brother-in-law, Dr. Albert Hornberger and wife, Kay, of Mahanoy City; a brother-in-law, Michael Boytim, of Camp Hill; a sister-in-law, Dorothy T. Tehansky, of Hummelstown; a sister-in-law, Fay Hornberger, of Palmyra, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bryan Hornberger Sr. on Feb. 11, 2000, and Dennis Hornberger on Aug. 11, 2010; two sisters and three brothers, and two sisters who died in infancy.
A funeral was held at the Farrow Funeral Home with the Rev. Ferd Madara officiating. Burial was in Northumberland Memorial Park.
