Spec. 4/c U.S. Army, {RA14833763}, Vietnam War-Spec. Mitchell was killed in a flying accident in a C-123B A/C on 1-25-1966 while serving as an Infantryman with Co. A of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. Spec. Mitchell started his tour of Vietnam on 8-6-1965.

Spec. Mitchell is the son of Mr. Jerry Mitchell of R.R. #1 Cowpens, South Carolina, and Mrs. Vergie G. Mitchell, c/o John Rockefeller, of 4535 Hawthorne S.E., Washington, D.C., and he enlisted with the Army in Spartanburg on 10-7-1964.
