According to the memorial marker in the cemetery in Lenawee Co. Michigan, Pvt. J W Wilson was aged 30 years and 6 months. I am his great, great, great grandson.

John William Wilson, Civil War Veteran, has headstone markers at both Wright Cemetery and Fredericksburg National Cemetery. The family added a headstone for his loved ones.
John William Wilson, was born 9 November, 1833, in Weybridge, Addison, Vermont, to Warren and Naomi Smead Wilson. He was 1 of ten children, including: Calvin, Albert, Martha, George, Sarah, Martin, Warren, Philena and Edwin C.
By 1850 the family had moved to White Oak, Ingham, Michigan.
On 22 April, 1855, John married Mary A. Smith, in Livingston County, Michigan. John and Mary were the parents of Lucetta, Mina, Sarah and Rose.
On the 1850 and 1860 census, John was a farmer.
On 8 August, 1862, John enlisted with Co. B, 26th Michigan Infantry, mustered in on 15 September, 1862. He was from Iosco, Michigan. He was mustered out (deceased) on 12 May, 1864 at the Spotsylvania Court House.
John left behind a wife and 4 daughters.
His brother Calvin died 3 September, 1862, and is buried at Stone River Cemetery, and brother George died 12 March, 1863, Alexandria, Virginia, probably during the war also.
Prior to his burial at Fredericksburg National, John and 1400 other soldiers were temporarily buried at McCoull Farm, Spotslyvania, Virginia.
