Randall Cortez "Randy" Wilson, 62, of 200 Sandy Run, died February 3, 2014, at his home from an apparent heart attack.
Randy was born in Louisiana, on August 20, 1951, to the late Cortez Wilson and Johnnie Stanly Wilson.
He retired with thirty years of service with the North Carolina Wildlife Commission. Randy was very active at Bethlehem Baptist Church, especially in the music ministry and children's program. He was a great dad and "pawpaw" and will be missed by his loving and caring family and special friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 7, 2014, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Reverend George Fox, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, February 6, 2014 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale.
Randy is survived by his son, Randall Adam Wilson of Charleston, South Carolina, and his daughter, Catherine W. Hartman (Ryan) from Nashville, North Carolina, and his granddaughter, Madison Blake Hartman, the mother of his children, Cindy Yates Wilson of Wilmington, and nephew, Kenneth Andrew Wilson, aunt, Joy S. Portie (Buddy), and cousins, Pam and Patti Portie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Larry Wilson.
