Army Cpl. Shawn T. Lasswell Jr., 21, of Reno, Nev.; assigned to the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died of injuries sustained April 23 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Taji, Iraq. Also killed were: Cpl. Jason B. Daniel and Sgt. Robert W. Ehney. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his mother and stepfather, Cathy and Rob Zehren; his father and stepmother, Shawn Thomas and Kim Lasswell, Sr.; brothers and sisters, Kevin Lasswell, Vincent Gill, Toliver Lasswell, Jessie Lasswell and Gabrielle Lasswell; grandparents Charles and Judy Lewis of Bethalto, Illinois, Joel and Judy Lasswell, Johnnie and Jeff Powell; great-grandparents Roger and Evelyn Reigart; many aunts and uncles including Carolyn, Chris, Candy, Jennifer and Dawn and other extended family and many friends. He is preceded in death by a grandmother, Carol Lewis; a great-grandmother, Vacie Lasswell.
