He married Elizabeth Brackman on May 30, 1894 in Maria Stein, Mercer County, Ohio and until about 1930, they lived with his parents. The 1930 census shows them living in Southern Hills, Van Buren Township, Montgomery County, Ohio where he worked as a lawn mower repairman. By 1935, they were living in San Jose California where he worked a a watchmaker. He died in Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. They had 5 children.
