A native of Atlanta, he was the son of Walter Louis Crome Sr. and Mary Paden Crome of Rock Hill. Mr. Crome was a former member of White Hill AME Zion Church, where he sang in the choir and served as a member of the usher board. He attended Rock Hill schools, graduating from Northwestern High School. He also attended Winthrop University, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in visual arts and a minor in psychology. He formerly worked at The Herald and BellSouth in Atlanta.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Phillip AME Church in Decatur, Ga. Burial will be in Atlanta. A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Friday at White Hill AME Zion Church in York.
Mr. Crome is survived by his wife, Barbara Miller Crome; and three sisters, Doris Williams of Vancouver, Wash., Yvonne Eberhart of Thomson, Ga., and Gwendolyn Wilson of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends at the home of his parents, 1287 Ogden Road, Rock Hill.
Arrangements are being handled by Wright Funeral Home, Atlanta, Ga.
