Mrs. JULIA (TYSON) JACKSON was the daughter of Noah Tyson and Mrs. Mary Jane (Duncan) Tyson.

Obituary
"Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Jackson, 75, of Smithland, will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Gethsame Methodist Church, in Jefferson, with the Reverend M.C. Henry Guinn officiating. Burial will be in the Gethsamane Core Cemetery under the direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jackson died Sunday at Linden Municipal Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Jackson was born in 1897 in Marion County to the late Noah Tyson and Mary Jane Tyson. She was a lifelong resident of the county and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Jackson, of Smithland; four sons, L.C. Jackson, of Palmdale, California, Booker T. Mathis, of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Thomas Jackson and Sylvester Jackson Jr., both of Maywood, Illinois; six daughters, Mrs. Vernell Jones, Mrs. Bertha Mae Smith, Mrs. Irene Smith and Mrs. Charles Etta Jefferson, all of Jefferson, and Mrs. Lula Stigers and Mrs. Irma Jean Jacquot, both of Houston; one brother, Noah Tyson, of Houston; one sister, Lucille Perkins, of Jefferson; 55 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren."
