Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 15th at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN, with Fr. David Maciej and Fr. Greg Poser con-celebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery with military honors by the Pierz American Legion Post #341.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 14th at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding with Parish Prayers at 7:00 P.M.
Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, January 15th from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M.
Leonard Math Poser was born on September 17, 1929, in Buh Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the son of Herman & Theresia (Zierer) Poser. He attended country school through the 8th grade. Leonard worked on the farm until entering the United States Marine Corps on December 18, 1951. He served at Marine Corps Annex in Barstow, California until his honorable discharge on December 2, 1953. Following his military service, he returned home and worked for Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud for many years. In 1965, Leonard purchased a farm north of Pierz where he resided until November 2013 when he became a resident of Harmony House of Pierz. On July 28, 1973, Leonard was united in marriage to Diane Carol Thomsen. The couple made their home on the farm north of Pierz where Leonard farmed and also worked part-time for Thielen Appliance and Furniture in Pierz. Leonard eventually quit the dairy portion of the farm but continued raising crops. In 1992, Lenny started doing snow removal and was groundskeeper at Holy Cross Church in Harding for 19 years. Lenny was a member of Holy Cross Church in Harding since moving to the farm in 1965 as well as a member of the Pierz American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards, pitching horseshoes at family parties, going dancing, visiting with friends and family and playing guitar in his early years. He especially enjoyed sitting out and enjoying the warm weather with his dog, Daisy at his side.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane; son, Trevor (Taunya); grandchildren, Cole & Brooke; sisters-in-law, Zita Poser, Esther Poser, Nancy Poser and Alice Poser; brother-in-law, Ken Sanders; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends as well as Diane's siblings, Gene (Gloria) Thomsen, Gloria Thomsen, and Dennis (Pam) Thomsen.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Theresia Poser; brothers, Felix (Marion), Edmund (Lorraine), Raymond (Elizabeth), Urban, Herman E., Benedict, and Arnold Poser; sisters, Irene (Alfred) Britz, Barbara (Dale) Short, Alma (Charles) Littlefield, Adeline (George) Przybilla and Theresia Sanders as well as Diane's siblings, Earl (Ione) Froelich, Wayne Thomsen and Dale Thomsen.
