Mrs. Delphine “Della” Catherine Reutman, 86 of Ferdinand, passed away Thursday, January 23rd at her home.
Delphine was born November 24, 1927 in St. Meinrad to Odilo & Pauline (Konerding) Vaal.
She married Clarence Reutman on May 29, 1954 at St. Meinrad Archabbey Church, St. Meinrad. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2008.
Delphine was an amazing wife, mother & grandmother. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, sense of humor & honesty. Her example of thankfulness for all things will live on in the lives of her loved ones.
Della was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish, and its St. Ann’s Sodality, & Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxiliary. She loved word search puzzles.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Harold Vaal and a step-great-grandchild.
Surviving are
sons, Charles Reutman, Terry Reutman and wife Cathy, John Reutman and wife Marna;
daughters, Carol Bradford and husband Dave, Annette Dowell and husband Gary, & Jan Egenolf and husband Dan, Darlene Sarber and husband Ken, Angela Wilson and husband Rob.
brothers, Walter Vaal and wife Viola, Arthur Vaal and wife Virginia, & Tony Vaal and wife Linda;
sisters, Verena Kempf, Irma Kempf, Annie Lange, Mary Lee Luebbehusen and husband Sylvester;
18 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
