Gary was born Sept. 19, 1951, in Trenton, N.J., to Marvin and Roberta Schack. He worked as lead access coordinator at the Pavilion.
Survivors include his life partner, Nina Stein of the home; two brothers, Mark Schack and wife Edna of Morehead, Ky., and Robert W. Schack and wife Patricia of The Woodlands; his nieces and nephews, Brian, Kevin, Clair, Rachel, David and Sara; and a stepson, Benton Schoen, of Philadelphia.
The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Unitarian Universalist, 4901 Cornell St., Amarillo, TX 79109, designated for the building fund; or Interfaith Campaign for the Homeless, Guyon Saunders Resource Center, 200 S. Tyler St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
