George Heinitz, former Finney county farmer, died at St. Catherine hospital yesterday. He was 80.
Mr. Heinitz was born in Russia Nov. 2, 1876, and was married there. In 1906 he came to the United States and started farming north of Russell.
Twenty-five years later, in 1931 he moved to Finney county and had resided here since then. He farmed and wan an employee of the Garden City company.
His wife preceded him in death in July of 1951.
Surviving are four sons, Herman of Garden City, Paul of Bucklin, Carl of Lakin, and William of Leoti; five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Nuse of Clearwater, Mrs. Rachel Dalliart of Holcomb, Mrs. Leah Smith of Seattle, Mrs. Lydia Birger of Dodge City and Mrs. Elma Lais of Marion; 29 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Heinitz will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Phillips chapel with the Rev. Harrison Smith officiating.
Burial will be at Valley View.
