Francis Beverly "Jack" Leopold, 77, New Ross, residing in Hants County for the past seven years, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004, in Haliburton Place, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Arthur and Edith (Walker) Leopold. Jack was a blacksmith and a farmer in New Ross. He kept oxen and made yokes for them well into his 70's. He also kept cattle until 1998 when he first went to reside with his brother, Merlin. He then resided with his niece, Hilda Dimock for two and a half years. He is survived by brothers, Oran (Madeline), New Ross; Merlin (Joyce), Greenhill, Hants County; sisters, Aurine Levy (Doug), Chester; Muriel Hughes (Ronald) Sheffield Mills; Vivian Harvey, Haliburton Place; Marie Pineo, Saint John; also many nieces and nephews who he cherished dearly. He was predeceased by brothers, Kempton, Kenneth, Merdic, Herman; sisters, Alice and Bertha. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, in Lohnes-Beazley Funeral Home, Windsor and again from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday, July 12, in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, New Ross. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, in Christ Church Anglican, New Ross, with burial in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Haliburton Place or Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department, Thermal Imaging Camera Fund. Family flowers only. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Lohnes-Beazley Family Funeral Home, Windsor.
