Eleanor received her education at St. Patrick's School, Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and the State University of Iowa. She was a labor and delivery nurse at Mercy Hospital for most of her career. She also worked for three years at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis., and as an instructor in nursing education at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids.
She enjoyed music, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling with friends and family. She was active in her parish, St. Patrick Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Ruth and T.J. Heskje; and her brother, Richard Heskje.
