Ill for the past four years, Mrs. Xenia Luanna Peters, wife of Rev. Dr. Albert G. Peters, 918 Walnut St., died Saturday night in the Allentown Hospital where she had been a patient for four days. She was in her 71st year. Mrs. Peters was a daughter of the late John A. Helffrich, M.D., and his wife Ida Sunderland who resided for some years at 1104 Linden St. Her maternal grandfather was Dr. J. Warren Sunderland, founder of the first college for young women in Pennsylvania. It was located about two blocks from Ursinus college at Collegeville and is marked by a monument on the site. Her paternal grandfather was the late Rev. Dr. William A. Helffrich, famed clergyman of his day. Her husband, now retired but serving as the stated supply for Christ church, Greenawalds, served Evangelical and Reformed church pastorates at St. Stephen's, Lebanon; St. Stephen's, Perkasie; St. Andrew's and Woodcrest, Philadelphia, and Trinity, Shenandoah. Throughout his work, Mrs. Peters was interested in all phases of women's church activities and especially in work among young people. She is survived by her husband, four daughters and seven grandchildren. The daughters are: Mrs. Isaac Knoll, Willow Grove; Mrs. Elwyn Jones, Pottsville; Mrs. George A. Flexer, Allentown, and Mrs. George A. Hutter, Wilkes-Barre. She is also survived by two brothers: Arthur Helffrich, Allentown, and James F. Helffrich, Los Angeles, Calif.
