Jennings: It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Shirley Mae Guidry Dupuis announces her passing from this life on June 7, 2015 at the age of 79. Shirley was born in Jennings, La. to the late John Guidry and the late Angelle Fruge Guidry on September 17, 1935. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She loved playing cards, sewing, dancing, and going to the casino... She especially enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with friends. Shirley was also a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shirley is survived by her three sons, Paul (Debbie) Dupuis of Jennings, LA, Gerald “Tiny” Dupuis of Jennings, LA, John (Brandy) Dupuis of Jennings, LA; one daughter, Sue (John) Dupuis Dennis of Jennings, LA; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John and Angelle Guidry; her beloved husband, Clifton Dupuis; one son, Jackie Dupuis; one brother, Thomas Gene Guidry; two sisters, Deanna Conner and Veronica Guidry.
Funeral Services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Father Charles McMillin officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday, June 9th from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with Cursillo Rosary recited at 7:00 PM followed by a service with Brother Paul Estes. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 10th at 8:00 AM until the time of her service at 10:00 AM.
A graveside Memorial Service in honor of Shirley will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews & Son Funeral Home.
