Angelo Massaro of Pine Avenue, a retired city truck driver, died Sunday (Aug. 6, 1995) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
Massaro, 66, was born on December 27, 1928 in Licata, Sicily, Italy, the son of Vincenzo and Gaetana (Incorvia) Massaro.
He immigrated to Niagara Falls with his family in 1938.
He served in the U.S. Army in 1946 and 1947.
He married the former Mary Paciocco on October 6, 1956, in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Massaro worked for the City of Niagara Falls in the Department of Public Works as a truck driver, retiring in 1989 after 34 years of service.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Mount Carmel Catholic Church Men's Club, the Italian-American War Veterans of the United States and the former Embassy Athletic Club.
Massaro enjoyed gardening, bowling and taking long walks.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Frank S. Massaro; a daughter, Margaret Eodice of North Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Maria Cosentino of Italy; a brother, Joseph Massaro of Clearwater, Fla.; and three grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, after prayers at 9 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
