Mrs. Elizabeth J. Fox
St. Marys-Mrs. Elizabeth J. Fox, 91, St. Marys, died late Monday, Feb 25, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born July 16, 1893, at Kelly, the daughter of Joseph H. and Maria Anna Kramer Bokern. She moved to Seneca in 1919, to Baileyville in 1926 and to St. Marys in 1942.
Mrs. Fox was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here.
She was married to Albert H. Fox Aug. 10, 1910, at Kelly. He died Jan. 10, 1974. A son, Ignacius Fox, died Jan. 12, 1915, and a second son, Vincent Fox, died July 12, 1918.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Oenbring, Baileyville, Sister Aurelia Fox, Order of St. Benedict, Mount St. Scholastica Convent, Atchison, and Mrs. Loretta Ann Higginbotham, Oklahoma City; five sons, Sylvester Fox, Frankfort, Donald Fox and Albert J. Fox, both of St. Marys, Bennie Fox, Holton, and Raymond Fox, Topeka; 33 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
