Funeral services for Robert M. Moeckel, 89, of Sugar Land, were held at 10 a.m. on Mon., Feb. 2, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Rev. Gary Brittain officiated the services.
Mr. Moeckel was born on Sept. 17, 1908 in Frelsburg to Emil Moeckel and Elizabeth Schuette Moeckel. He passed away on Jan. 30, 1998 in Sugar Land.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Meyer Moeckel; his parents; four sisters; five brothers; and a granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Garrett.
He is survived by his daughters, Irene Krause and her husband, John, of Sugar Land, Madeline Liescheski and her husband, Leonard, of Pearland, Regina Krause and her husband, Larry, of Houston, and Jo Ann Woods and her husband, Doug, of San Felipe; her sons, Leroy Joe Moeckel and his wife, Mildred, of Fresno, Elroy Moeckel of Sugar Land, Robert G. Moeckel and his wife, Carolyn, of Missouri City, John Louis Moeckel and his wife, Glenda, of Sugar Land, and Jerry Emil Moeckel and his wife, Monica, of Missouri City; a sister, Regina Jasek of Fayetteville; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sun., Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM 2218 and Hwy. 59) in Rosenberg.
