Douglas H. Davidson, 86, of Linton, passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at 4:10 p.m. at Linton Nursing & Rehab.
Born July 24, 1917 in Linton, he was the son of David and Isabella (Cunningham) Davidson.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a Job Setter for General Motors in Pontiac, Mich., returning to Linton in 1976 after his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linton where he served several years on the Board of Trustees and was also a deacon for nine years.
Survivors include his wife, Delema N. (Padgett) Davidson of Linton, whom he married May 22, 1937; three daughters, Marilyn Frentheway of Lake Orion, Mich., Barbara Landry of Lake Orion, Mich., and Phyllis Smith of Galesburg, Mich.; one son, Charles Davidson of Linton; one sister, Janet Sanders of Sandborn; nine grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alex, Robert, William and David Davidson; two sisters, Mary McVay and Dorothy Maxwell; and his parents.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
