Edward Richard Loeber, was called home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, February 17, 2015. He leaves to remember him, his beloved wife Betty Reed Loeber, a brother Harry Loeber (Mary) of Maryland, a sister Dorothy Loeber Williams of New York, nieces Kathy Williams, Flora Byars (Alan), Nancy Williams all of New York, Kristine Perreaults (Tom) of Maryland, Pamela Moore of Mississippi, Elsie Craft (Jeff) of Atoka, Tennessee, nephews R.J. Loeber (Melanie) of Conn, Chester Allison, Jr (Barbara) of Lakeland, TN, Cary Allison (Kim) of Arlington, TN., sister-in-law, Pattie Reed Allison; 10 great nieces and nephews, 11 great, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Loeber and mother Julia Schurig Loeber. He was from Verplanck, NY, came south to go to Ole Miss, and after graduation decided to stay in the south and teach history. He taught in the Shelby County School System for 40 years, where he had great students and friends. After he retired, along with his wife, he traveled all across the USA and Canada. He loved sports whether he was playing, as he did in school, or watching on tv. He loved the NY Yankees and Giants and his Ole Miss Rebels. He loved playing golf with his wife and friends. He leaves a host of friends from across the country, and he will be missed. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee.
