Mary Evelyn Hillhouse, 92, of Fort Smith, Arkansas departed this life Monday, October 17, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was born July 9, 1913, in Hot Springs. Her family moved to Fort Smith in 1923 where she resided for some 80 years as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the widow of Arthur W. Hillhouse who passed away in 1997.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith for over 60 years. Mary Evelyn was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Ellis, Marie Berry, Geneva Franklin and Betty Thomas; brothers, Jack Ellis and Bill Ellis. She is survived by one sister, Catherine; two daughters, Mary Louise and Margaret; two sons; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service was announced to be held at a later date. Burial will be by Cremation with interment at Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
