For the first 4 years of their marriage, they lived in Seneca. Lyle worked as a painter and carpenter at this time. Three of their four children were born while they lived in Seneca. In 1952, they moved to Grandview, MO; in 1957, to Prairie Village, Ks. The last of their children was born while they lived there. In 1962, they moved to Leawood, where they spent the rest of their lives. Mildred worked as a homemaker, enjoyed bowling, and worked in a fabric shop until she retired. By the way, she was a fairly good seamstress.
