Ellis, Vincent Patrick, Sr. of Farragut passed away March 4, 2015. Pat was 81. It was his ambition to become a physician like his father, but Pat set that aside to marry Peggy Lamb Ellis and raise five children in Chattanooga. Pat and Peggy were the owners of Lookout Mountain Tarpaulin Company and they spent 38 years building a successful business and providing personalized service to customers ranging from truck drivers to the 1982 Knoxville World's Fair.

Pat was a life-long learner and his interests fueled his travel to many parts of the world, to include his dream trip to Rome and the Vatican. He loved discussing politics, and family dinners were not complete without a robust argument on a topic of the day. To this day, we are a noisy, opinionated, and very close family.

He was completely unselfish in his support of his children and grandchildren, and taught us to be unselfish as well. He made time to visit his children wherever they might be. We all enjoyed travelling to see him when he could no longer travel to see us.

Pat was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. His personal example of hard work, life-long curiosity, and unselfish love of family were his gifts to us and will continue to keep him close in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Lamb Ellis; children, Suzie Miltner and her spouse, Kris Miltner, Patrick Ellis Jr. and his spouse, Mitchell Bond, Roy L. Ellis and his spouse, Terry Popp Ellis, Mary Monroe-Ellis and her spouse, Harold Monroe, and John G. Ellis and his spouse, Anita Schonagen Ellis; 8 grandchildren, Mary Miltner, Katie Miltner, Daniel Miltner, Lauren Ellis Shuler, Christopher Marinus Holtrop, Jennifer Ellis, Egan Monroe and Nolan Ellis and 1 great-grandson, Cole Monroe; as well as a sister, Peggy Webb and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date.
