Luther C. Amburgey, age 85, of Middletown, Ohio, died Thursday March 5, 2015 at his residence.

He was born in Middletown, Ohio on November 2, 1929 to Hilliard Solomon and Amanda Lee (Shepherd) Amburgey.

Luther served in the Army was a lifetime member of VFW Post #7596 in Franklin, American Legion Post #8888, and FOE #528. Luther enjoyed camping and listening to Evan Lanier playing the banjo.

He was employed with Armco Steel for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Amburgey; brothers, August Henry Amburgey and Harold Amburgey, sisters, Dorothy Ann Amburgey and Audrey June Amburgey.

Luther is survived by his two sons, Dennis Amburgey, Tony C. Amburgey; closest friend and care giver, Alice Campbell; 2 grandsons; 3 great grandchildren; special niece, Pam Calhoun.

Funeral services are 1:00 pm Monday March 9, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Homes 1357 East Second Street Franklin, Ohio with James Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home. The family would to thank Hospice for all the special things they did.
