Stielf "Steve" Erdmann, 80 years of age, of Wymore passed away at the Beatrice Community Hospital Sunday evening, March 1, 2015. He was born on October 27, 1934 near Wymore to Stielf and Marie (Gerdes) Erdmann and was a 1952 graduate of Barneston High School. Stielf and Dorothy Bartels were married on April 22, 1956. He had farmed near Barneston before moving into Wymore in 2000. He was a member of the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wymore and had been on the church council; was a former member of the Barneston School Board; and was recognized at the Gage County Fair in 2007 with the Pioneer Farm Family Award as his farm had been in his family for 100 years. Stielf enjoyed fishing and following Husker sports, however he mostly enjoyed being a farmer.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy; children Stielf Robert Erdmann and wife Mary Jo of Lincoln, Judy Vrtiska and husband Dave of Beatrice, Gene Erdmann and wife Carol of Wymore, and Arlyn Erdmann and wife Kelly of Beloit, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Stielf and Marie (Gerdes) Erdmann; and an infant brother Dale.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wymore with Reverend Rob Garton officiating. Interment will be at the Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery. The body will lie in state Thursday from 10-9:00 and Friday from 9-1:00 at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 Thursday, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Friday. A memorial has been established to the church and the cemetery with the funeral home in charge. A family prayer service will be held at 2:45 PM Friday at the church.
